Location

The land plot of 110 Ha is in the long term lease with the right to build warehouse objects. 

The geographical location of Dmitrov district meets all the requirements of a modern multimodal cargo river port:

  • Firstly, in Dmitrov district there lies Tatischevo lay-by of Moscow Canal, that is the only place on the Canal that allows building a port logistic complex in the most technically and technologically efficient way. 
  • Secondly, the new transport ring road – Central ring road – will cross Dmitrov district connecting it with the Leningradskoe road. The distance to Moscow ring road is 60 km. 
  • Thirdly, the Sheremetievo airport is situated nearby. 
  • Fourthly, the railroad to Saint-Petersburg lies through Dmitrov region.

  • The total warehouse area is 99.3 ths. sq.m, including the FMCG area of 73.2 ths. sq.m, cross-docking terminal, 26.1 ths. sq.m of fresh and deep frozen zones 
  • Clear height of the warehouse – 12.5 m 
  • Pallet-places - 133 ths. 
  • Gates - 275 
  • Offices and social area - 7 ths. sq.m 

Dmitrov Port project is unique since it includes the first multiprofile cargo complex with a full spectrum of multimodal transit services. It boosts waterway capacity, provides high-end cargo handling and increases cargo flow. That will raise the share of waterway transportation and will also release overpressure from roads around Moscow owing to redirection of traffic flows to the Moscow Ñentral Ring Road which is under construction now.

The project will contribute to the multimodal haulages development and the fulfillment of goals and priorities of Russian Federation social-economic growth.

The Expert council of Ministry of transportation of Russian Federation on public private partnership, held on May 2008, 7, approved in general the construction of Dmitrov Port on Moscow Canal for assignment of government support from the Investment Fund of Russian Federation.

The construction of port-logistic complex in Dmitrov was appointed within priority projects within the Program of Moscow region transport complex development (2010-2015 years) accepted on September, 30, 2008. The RF Minister of Transport Igor Levitin stated this fact in his report.

Moreover, Dmitrov Port will further help to optimize cargo loading of automobile roads and railroads by providing alternative water routes and full service for “river-sea” ships with the possibility of various cargoes long term storage.

Construction terms

Beginning of construction works is planned for 2012.
Commissioning will start around 2014.

Financial and operational highlights

  • The estimated amount of investment is 395 million dollars with 45% of it to be financed by the Investment Fund of the Russian Federation.
  • The internal rate of return (IRR) totals 19%
